What is an Insulated Glass?
What is Insulated Glass? Insulated Glass or double glaze unit is defined as a combination of two glass panels resulting in one glass panel. The type of glass used in the exterior of insulated glass can be tinted, one-way mirror or solar control and the one towards the interior is clear glass. This combination and the thickness can vary as per the requirements. In the centre of these two glasses is an aluminium spacer which consists of small holes and zeolite/molecular sieves. These aluminium spacers are held together in between the glass units by using futile tape. The frame of the spacer is slightly smaller in size as compared to the frame of the glass. Around the boundary of the glass, purposely there is a space left that is filled using silicon. Space present between the aluminium spacer and the glass is filled either by dry air or by argon gas or vacuum. How Insulated Glass Works? When you are using single glass, the sound insulation is not as efficient as it is with in...
